The Victoria Shamrocks are already proving to be one of the best teams in the Western Lacrosse Association as they lead the league at 6-2. Now their star goaltender is set to return.Matt Vinc, the goaltender of the year with the NLL’s Rochester Knighthawks, will be back with the Shamrocks this week. Last season he was a member of the Brampton Excelsiors before he transferred to the Brtisih Columbia league for this season.
Matt Flindell has already been solid for the Rocks, but there is no denying what Vinc can do. Flindell had the second best goals against average in the league with an 8.18, but again, you can’t not play the best goaltender in the world in Vinc.
Vinc had a GAA of 10.17 with the champion Knighthawks this season, playing in 955 minutes, the most in the league with one more minute than Calgary Roughneck goaltender Mike Poulin.
The Shamrocks next play tomorrow at Maple Ridge to face the Burrards, who trail them in the standings by four points.
