MLL ASG 2013: Rochester Rattlers

This weekend, Major League Lacrosse will be taking a break form their intense regular season and give their fans a look at the top players around the league in the Moe’s Southwest Grill MLL All Star Game. Each team has at least two players heading to Charlotte, N.C. to take part in the contest. The game will start with the first half, followed by Fastest Shot, Accuracy and Freestyle competitions, ending with the games second half.

 

Five players from Rochester will fly down to American Legion Memorial Stadium, leading them is veteran midfielder, Matt Striebel, who is attending his ninth All Star Game and is second on the team with 22 points. Attackman Ned Crotty received his third nomination and also leads the Rattlers in points with eleven goals and thirteen assists.

 

There are three first time All Stars for Rochester this weekend. Second year defender, Mike Manley, has one goal this season and is the only defender that the gold and black had selected. Midfielder Jordan Macintosh is in his third year with the Rattlers organization and sits fourth in points with 16 goals and one assist. There was a late addition to the roster as injured players that were originally selected opted out. Rookie John Ranagan, the big midfielder out of Johns Hopkins, was announced as a replacement and will be the third rookie to participate with Charlotte’s Mike Sawyer and New Yorks Rob Pannell. Ranagan has tallied twelve goals this season so far.

 

This will be the second time the MLL All Star Game will take place in Charlotte. Face-off is set for Saturday, July, 13 at 7p.m and will be aired live on ESPN2.
