The Boston Cannons are off to an 0-2 start in 2013, and are looking to make sure they do not start 0-3 for the first time in franchise history. However, they face a 2-0 Denver Outlaws team looking to stay hot.
The Outlaws and Cannons are both projected playoff teams going in different directions. Boston will be without starting goaltender Jordan Burke due to injury, making Mike Gabel their starter. In net for the Outlaws will be Jesse Schwartzman.
Boston will be getting back Mike Stone who missed last week’s game due to personal reasons. Mitch Belisle is also back from the Minnesora Swarm, giving the Cannons a chance to play better defense than they have.
However, Denver has a very dangerous offense. Brendan Mundorf has only one game and already four points while Jeremy Sieverts and Chris Bocklet are tied for the league lead with nine.
“Obviously being at home, we want to win in front of our home crowd, and we’re 0-2.” said Cannons coach Steve Duffy. “It’s very important for us to win this game; we recognize that. We’re going to take it one game at a time and we’re going to focus on practicing Friday night, and getting the stuff done we need to get done on Friday and Saturday morning to come out and play better.”
This will be the Outlaws third straight road game and a chance for them to take a commanding lead on their competition in the league as they look to finish as a top team.
