MLL in NCAA: Law Leads Denver to Comeback

Senior – Eric Law – Attack – Denver Outlaws – Denver Pioneers

Starting attackman Eric Law had an outstanding performance to lead his Pioneers (14-4) past the North Carolina Tar Heels (13-4) by a score of 12-11 on Sunday afternoon at Lucas Oil Stadium.  Law picked up a loose ball in front of the Tar Heels cage to score the his third goal of the game and game winning goal with only 13 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.  The 29th overall pick in the fourth round by Denver Outlaws also picked up three assists in the victory.

With the victory, the Pioneers now advance to the NCAA Men’s Division One Final Four for the second time in three years when they face first seeded Syracuse (15-3) on Saturday May 25th in Philadelphia at 5pm.

Senior – David Lawson – Midfield – Rochester Rattlers – Duke Blue Devils

The Rochester Rattlers fifth round pick in the 2013 Collegiate Draft scored a career high five goals to lead his Duke Blue Devils (14-5) past Notre Dame (11-5) 12-11.  

Sunday’s victory propelled David Lawson and his Blue Devils to the Final Four for the seventh straight time and ninth overall in school history.

In 2013, Lawson currently sits third in team scoring with 32 goals and 15 assists for 47 points in 19 games.

The Blue Devils will face Cornell (14-3) on May 25th at 2:30 pm at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

Senior – JoJo Marasco – Midfield – New York Lizards – Syracuse Orange

Syracuse’s leading scorer; JoJo Marasco assisted on the game winning goal with just 13 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to beat the Yale Bulldogs (12-5) by a score of 7-6 on Sunday.  The New York Lizards 37th overall pick in 2013 also scored one goal and added one more assist in the victory.

This was Syracuse’s ninth one goal game this season, most ever in program history.

Marasco leads Syracuse with 20 goals and 38 assists for 58 points in 18 games this season.

Senior – Logan Schuss – Attack – Ohio Machine – Ohio State Buckeyes

Co-Captain Logan Schuss will be joining his new teammates on May 23rd when his Ohio Machine (0-3) takes on the Hamilton Nationals (3-0) at 7:30 pm. The 11th overall pick played his last career game for the Ohio State Buckeyes (13-4) after a disappointing 16-6 loss to Cornell in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Schuss tallied one goal and two assists in his 62nd career game with the Buckeyes.

In 2013, the Ladner, BC native scored an all-time high 72 points (44G, 28A) in 17 games. In four years at Ohio State he scored 237 points.
