We all remember the glowing puck on NHL games on FOX. This weekend, Major League Lacrosse is trying something that comes close. In this week’s game between the New York Lizards and Ohio Machine at 7pm on CBS Sports Network, MLL will attempt to use yellow and white balls to better the TV viewing experience.
In the past, MLL founder Jake Steinfeld has suggested something like this might come along. Currently MLL games use orange balls and have since the league’s inception. The first half will be played with a white ball and in the second half, yellow.
The National Lacrosse League uses white balls along with NCAA men’s, while the women’s level is the only known level to use yellow balls.
Logan Schuss of the Machine and Greg Gurenlian of the Lizards reacted.
