Now that the dust has settled, the players and the fans finally have a chance to look around and determine what 2015 will mean for the newly established club. In perhaps the biggest offseason in MLS history, the Cannons will be going without the face of the franchise, Paul Rabil, in 2015 in exchange for Max Siebald.
Returning to the team is Will Manny and Kevin Buchanan. The two tallied for 93 points this past season and are likely to see more opportunities in 2015 without the likes of Rabil.
2015 will be an interesting year for the Cannons. Rebuilding is essential for the squad as the ownership showed that they want to move in another direction. The newly acquired Max Siebald will be a big piece for Boston this season. The expectations will certainly be high for the Cornell alum but Cannons fans can’t expect too much out of the midfielder.
In 2014 Siebald only scored 17 goals for a total of 21 points for New York.
It is safe to say that Boston will be looking forward for their 2016, 1st round draft pick, coming up later this year.
As camp approaches it is important to look at the leadership of Manny and Buchanan as the two combined for an impressive season in 2014. The question remains for Boston, will the Cannons be competitive enough for their Gillette Stadium debut or will they be in full rebuilding mode in 2015. Only time will tell, as camp approaches.
