The Brooklin Redmen made a splash yesterday at the 2014 Major Series Lacrosse trade deadline as they acquired goaltender Mike Poulin from the Kitchener-Waterloo Kodiaks.
The Redmen also added Mike Teeter, a lefty forward. Going to the Kodiaks is transition player Joel Matthews, forward Matt Melnychenko, and goaltender Steve Fryer. In an odd twist to the trade, Poulin will have the option to go back to the Kodiaks at the next deadline.
Poulin held Brampton to four goals in his debut with Brooklin. He made 54 saves in his debut and will not play tonight against the Peterborough Lakers.
“Was I going to sit and watch everyone go by…I did that last year. I had an opportunity to pick up a quality goaltender.” head coach Wayne Colley said after the trade.
Meanwhile, the Six Nations Chiefs traded for defenseman Patrick Merrill from the Brampton Excelsiors. Brampton receives second and third round picks for the 2017 MSL draft.
