Nationals Improve to 7-3 With Win Over Rats

The Hamilton Nationals (7-3) earned their seventh win of the season after defeating the Rochester Rattlers (4-6) on Sunday afternoon at Sahlen’s Stadium.  Hamilton’s leading goal scorer Kevin Crowley scored two goals and three assists in the win.  

The Nationals took a 5-3 lead into the second half and never looked back outscoring the Rattlers once again 5-3 in to finish the game.  Joe Walters scored two goals and one assist, while Cody Jamieson chipped in a goal and two assists.  Rounding out the scoring for the Nationals were Garrett Thul (1G,1A), Jordan Hall (1G), Jeremy Thompson (1G), Martin Cahill (1G) and Kevin Cunningham (1A).

Brett Queener picked up his 22nd career win in net making 22 saves.

Kevin Leveille and Steven Boyle led the Rattlers with a goal and assist each.  Other Rattlers scorers were Kyle Denhoff (1G), John Ranagan (1G), Dave Lawson (1G), Matt Striebel (1G) and Ned Crotty (1A).

John Galloway registered the loss in net making 16 saves.

Next up for Hamilton is when they host the last place Ohio Machine (1-9) on Saturday July 20th at 7:30 pm.

Rochester takes on the undefeated Denver Outlaws (10-0) at home on July 20th at 1:00 PM.
