The Hamilton Nationals defeated the Rochester Rattlers 17-11 in Boca Raton, Florida in front of over 4,000 fans.In the second game all time played in Florida, the Nationals bounced back from their week seven loss while the Rattlers lost their second straight. The Nationals were led by a six point night from Joe Walters.
John Ranagan of the Rattlers scored three goals for the third straight game while Kevin Crowley picked up three more points and leads the league with 35 points. He has points in all of his last 23 games.
Martin Cahill also put up four goals for the Nats while Brett Queener made a career high 25 saves. The Nationals came out with a 4-1 lead and by the half led 10-4. They outscored the Rattlers in every quarter except the fourth, when the Rattlers scored five to the Nationals four.
Rochester dominated in the shots department with 36 on net. John Ortolani and Mike Popperton played to a fairly even faceoff battle, while Poppelton winning just one more from the x.
John Galloway made just 11 saves for the Rattlers as they fall into a three way tie for the fifth seed in Major League Lacrosse, tied with New York and Boston. Meanwhile, the Nationals own the second seed at 6-2, two games behind the 8-0 Denver Outlaws.
