Tonight the Buffalo Bandits will host the Edmonton Rush as they try to get above .500. They sit at 5-6 on the season and three games back of the Toronto Rock. Meanwhile in Edmonton, the Rush are 6-5 and half a game back of the first place Washington Stealth.
Just last week the Rush won in Rochester 11-9 to get back over .500. Meanwhile, the Bandits fell in Colorado 16-13, and this week will be without their top defenseman Billy Dee Smith due to suspension.
The Rush are looking for a franchise high four game winning streak as they end this five game road trip this weekend and their entire road schedule. Edmonton is tied with Calgary for second place in the west and have a game in hand on the first place Stealth.
“You’re obviously a little concerned playing well and then going into a bye week but it gave us a chance to get healthy and we actually played with quite a bit of energy.” said head coach Derek Keenan this week.
This will be the first time ever the Rush will play in Buffalo and the fourth all time matchup between the clubs. Ryan Ward needs just four more assists to break his own franchise record of 43 season assists. Mark Matthews needs six goals to break the record for goals in a season with 37 for the Rush.
For the Bandits, they’ve allowed more goals than any team in the east. It doesn’t look like transition man Alex Kedoh Hill will be in the lineup yet either. Can they snap their three game losing streak? Buffalo has had strong starts all season, but they need to stay composed against a hungry Edmonton club.
Game time is 7:30 on The Lacrosse Network.
