After a 13-11 win against Calgary yesterday, the Toronto Rock continue their western road trip as they head to the other Alberta team Edmonton. Last season the Rush were the Western Conference Champions in the NLL.
In the win Kasey Biernes shone with three goals and two assists while the captain Colin Doyle had five helpers. They now face an Edmonton team with a strong defense with the likes of Kyle Rubisch and Chris Corbeil.
Mark Matthews is making his NLL regular season debut as the first overall pick in the draft last season. Rookie Curtis Knight will also be making his NLL debut.
Nick Rose made 44 saves yesterday and is expected to start again today. Starting for the Rush will be Aaron Bold who is coming off of a career season in 2012.
The Rush have a strong left side with Matthews, Zack Greer and Corey Small and the key to the game for the Rock will be shutting them down. Meanwhile for Toronto, they were glad to get Garrett Billings going with two goals and an assit. They will need him to be on his game yet again.
Toronto struggled at the faceoff dot, winning just 26% of their faceoffs. They were also outshot 56 to 48 last night, so these are two things they will want to focus on improving.
Game time is at 4pm eastern time today and can be watched at youtube.com/tln.
