Tonight the Washington Stealth look for their third in a row as they take on the Edmonton Rush at home. Last weekend Washington defeated the Colorado Mammoth in Denver while the Rush fell to the Toronto Rock.
Cliff Smith has been leading the Stealth along with their usual stars in Lewis Ratcliff, Rhys Duch and Athan Iannucci. Smith has 15 points in the last two games to lead the Stealth. His seven goals also lead the league.
Kyle Buchanan also has eight assists so far in his rookie season and has been a surprise for the high flying Stealth. Meanwhile, Ratcliff leads the league with 28 shots on goal.
Meanwhile for Edmonton, they are led by rookies Mark Matthews and Curtis Knight who both had big games against Toronto last week. Knight currently leads the league with three power play goals.
Tyler Ricahrds will be in net tonight according to head coach Chris Hall and he will be facing Rush goalie Aaron Bold who is fourth in the league in goals against average with 10.00 on the season thus far.
Washington leads the league with 30 goals in their two games while Edmonton has the least goals in the league with nine in just one game. Bob Snider will be facing Jarrett Toll on the facoff dot; Washington wins 70% of their faceoffs while Edmonton wins 68% of theirs.
Edmonton has scored on the power play at a rate of 66% while Washington’s unit has struggled with a rate of 37%. One key for Washington tonight is to take advantage of their man up unit.
Game time tonight is at 6pm eastern.
