The NLL season is getting into the stretch run and it’s time for the best players to play like the best players. But this time of year is also a time for unsung heroes, and last week we saw a little bit of both.
Tyler Carlson, Minnesota Swarm
Carlson had a performance for the ages in net in St. Paul as he helped the Swarm defeat the Washington Stealth 12-5. Holding the high scoring Stealth to just five goals was impressive enough but he made 48 saves in the contest as well. He held the Stealth, the top team in the west, to three goals with ten minutes left in the game.
Callum Crawford, Minnesota Swarm
When captain Andrew Suitor got injured, Crawford stepped in as the captain and he has impressed. This week he scored four goals and picked up four assists as he became the Swarm’s all time assists leader in the win over Washington.
Jordan McBride, Colorado Mammoth
McBride was a popular pick for breakout player of the game and he showed why in the Colorado win over the Buffalo Bandits last week. He picked up four goals with two assists and he is now the third leading scorer on the Mammoth.
