Ohio Machine Moving in Right Direction Year One

Yesterday I examined the first season for the expansion Charlotte Hounds, and today it is time to look at the Ohio Machine.

The Machine have had a very rough season, as they are 2-8 and in last place in Major League Lacrosse. They have the third worst goals for in the league and they have allowed the second most, behind fellow expansion team Charlotte.

One thing that surprised me was their attendance. The Machine are fifth in the league in attendance, which is a lot more than you would expect for an expansion team.

Ohio is not having a great year just like Charlotte. They are probably not going to see the playoffs this season, but that does not mean they do not have a bright future.

They could have the top overall pick in the draft next season, and already have a core to build around in Chazz Woodson, Steele Stanwick, Kyle Hartzell, Connor Martin and Matt Casey.

Ohio is a team that could compete next season, though it would not be surprising if they take a few years to become an elite team. So far there are not many negatives however, so I see no reason they can not be in MLL for a long time.
