Third Star- Matt Vangalen- Orangeville Northmen
Matt Vangalen had a big six point performance to help lift Orangeville Northmen to a 11-8 victory over the St.Catharines Athletics on Friday night. The hometown Orangeville product netted a hat trick, including two powerplay markers and chipped in with three assists. Vangalen now has 18 points in seven games played and is just five points shy of his career best of 23 in 2013.
Second Star- Austin Staats- Six Nations Arrows
Austin Staats had a big week for the Six Nations Arrows, totaling 16 points in three victories. Staats tallied four goals and two assists against Barrie on Thursday night and followed it up with a goal and three assists in Toronto against the Beaches on Saturday. The 2014 Minto Cup Champion closed out a solid weekend with two goals and four assists in the rubber match against the Beaches at home. The lefty currently leads all Arrows scorers with 27 points in six games.
First Star- Jeff Teat- Brampton Excelsiors
Jeff Teat is quickly climbing up the OLA Jr.A scoring leader list after a stellar weekend for the Brampton Excelsiors. Teat had a monster night on Friday, netting a hat trick and chipping in with five assists for eight points in a 14-11 win over Peterborough. It was the second straight game Teat tallied eight points against the Lakers. Just two days later, Teat found the back of the net once while adding three helpers. Unfortunately for him and the Excelsiors they fell 7-6 to Barrie. Teat is 11 points back of Austin Shanks and Ryan Keenan for the OJALL scoring lead, but he’s played two less games then the Whitby duo.
