Brock Sorensen was a highly sought after prospect in the NLL for the past few years. The Minnesota Swarm selected him with the second overall pick in the 2012 draft, and he has now played three games as a member of the Swarm.
“It was great experience to play in Minny for the first time.” said Sorensen about playing with the Swarm in St. Paul last weekend. “There as a ton of energy, our fans are loud as ever, and the Xcel was rocking.”
Minnesota defeated the first place Washington Stealth this weekend, and Sorensen said it was good to get that win after two hard losses.
“It was nice to get our first win under our belt with being so close in the previous two although it was two that we should have won.”
Sorensen has been enjoying his rookie season, calling it a dream come true for him. “So far being in the NLL is a dream come true as it takes me back a little. Playing in front big crowds in these amazing venues is something special.”
This week the Swarm face the Colorado Mammoth, a team that has just made a change at the goalie position and have started the season 1-2, the same record as the Swarm. Sorensen says they just need to build off of last game.
“We need to continue to play the same way we have done so in the last three games but dedicate ourselves to a smarter forth quarter.”
