Tonight when the Denver Outlaws take on the Hamilton Nationals, they can leave the field knowing they will be a part of MLL Championship Weekend in Boston.
Less can be said about the Hamilton Nationals, who no longer have anything to play for but pride. They were eliminated last week by the Long Island Lizards.
Denver is in second place in Major League Lacrosse, trailing the first place Chesapeake Bayhawks by just one game. They lead the league in goals with 167, nine more than the next team, Boston, with 158.
Meanwhile, Hamilton has given up more goals than anybody in the league except for Charlotte and Ohio with their goalie tandem of Scott Rodgers and Brett Queener.
The Outlaws’ Brendan Mundorf is second in the league in points with 45, trailing just Paul Rabil. Jeremy Sieverts is sixth with 24. The leading Hamilton scorer, Joe Walters, is tied for ninth with Boston’s Matt Poskay at 32.
The Outlaws are 7-3 all time against the Nationals, and tonight’s game will take place in Hamilton, Ontario. You can watch the game live on ESPN3.com and Altitude TV in Colorado.
