The Outlaws signed attackman Michael Bocklet to the roster from the team’s open tryouts held on Saturday, March 7, the club announced Monday.
Mike Bocklet joins his two younger brothers, Matt Bocklet and Chris Bocklet, on the Outlaws’ roster after being added from the MLL player pool following his performance at the club’s tryouts this weekend.
“We are very excited about adding Mike Bocklet to our current roster for 2015. Mike is an exciting attackman who can dodge and get to the goal as well as finish the ball. Having three Bocklets with the Outlaws says a great deal about their DNA,” said General Manager Tony Seaman.
Mike Bocklet played college lacrosse at Fairfield University from 2003-07 and served as the Stags’ captain his senior year. He finished his career ranked top-10 for the program in points (147), goals (95) and assists (52) and was drafted in the 5th round (45th overall) in the 2008 MLL Supplemental Draft by the Long Island Lizards but did not appear in any MLL games.
He currently serves as the Head Coach at Purchase College in Purchase, N.Y. and is in charge of recruiting the inaugural men’s lacrosse class for Purchase, which was announced as an official NCAA Div. III intercollegiate sport for 2015-16. Mike Bocklet served as the assistant coach and offensive coordinator for SUNY Cortland in 2011 and 2012 before joining the Dartmouth lacrosse staff as an assistant coach in 2013.
