On Saturday October 18, the Denver Outlaws are set to scrimmage the Denver University Pioneers for the Annual Colorado Lacrosse Showcase. In last year’s scrimmage, the DU Pioneers defeated the Outlaws by the final score of 10-5. Unfortunately, the Outlaws were without many of their players due to Team USA tryouts in Pennsylvania, but gave it their all.
This year the Outlaws roster consists of:
Defense—Chris O’Dougherty #4; Matt Bocklet #7; Ethan Vedder #21; Lee Zink #29; and Dillon Roy #91.
Midfield—Cam Holding #9; Noah Molnar #12; Justin Pennington #14; Jeremy Sieverts #20; Colin Dunster #26; Jeremy Noble #45; Domenic Sebastiani #45; and Michael Simon #66.
Attack—Chris Bocklet #10; Curtis Dickson #17; and Zack Greer #88.
Faceoff—Anthony Kelly #47; and Brent Hiken #30.
Goalies—Charlie Cipriano #25; and Ben Brown (alternate)
The Outlaws have two DU alumni on their roster, Dillon Roy and Jeremy Noble. Unfortunately, Eric Law also a DU alumnus will not be playing due to the shoulder injury he suffered this summer. However, they’ve got returning players from last year’s scrimmage in Matt and Chris Bocklet, Zack Greer, Chris O’Dougherty, and Charlie Cipriano.
The Pioneers have not announced their roster for the game, but you can imagine that they will have their best players out on the field in an effort to take home the honor of winning the Colorado Lacrosse Showcase this year.
As always, this is the battle between the two teams and with DU coming off another stellar year and the Outlaws winning the MLL Championship in August, both teams will be playing hard.
Following the scrimmage, the Outlaws will host two clinics from 4-5 p.m., where current Denver Outlaws players will show young lacrosse players different drills, techniques and how to be the best they can be in the growing sport of lacrosse.
