The Florida Launch are heading out on the road for the first time in the 2017 MLL season to take on the Rochester Rattlers this Sat., May 20. In the first fixture of a three-game road trip, the Launch head to Capelli Sport Stadium in Rochester, N.Y. where they’ll attempt to complete the season series sweep of the Rattlers. Faceoff is set for 7:30 p.m EST. The game will be aired live on Lax Sports Network (LSN).
This will be the second and final time this season that the Launch go head-to-head with the Rattlers. In their last meeting at home, the Launch defeated Rochester 12-10 to capture the team’s first win of the season.
“Our goal is to be successful. I think that sometimes in sports you’re judged on wins and losses, but at the same time, we want to judge ourselves on the steps we’re taking,” Launch coach Tom Mariano told LSN. “We’re growing together, and continuing to evolve into the best team possible.”
Since their last meeting with Rochester, the Launch have made some adjustments to the roster, adding veteran goalie Adam Fullerton and midfielder Tim Edwards. Fullerton rejoined the Launch after spending time on the rosters for Ohio, Denver, and Atlanta since his last stint with Florida in 2015. Edwards hopes to make his MLL debut after spending time playing in the National Lacrosse League.
“I think, like a lot of people, we’re still adding pieces to the puzzle. We’re trying different combinations. Guys are getting in better shape each week as they are playing more games, and they’re getting their game legs under them. We’re trying different things to create opportunities for ourselves,” said Mariano.
After the three-game road trip, the Launch will return to FAU Stadium to take on the New York Lizards on June 10.For tickets, call 561-923-9067 or visit floridalaunchlacrosse.com/tickets today.
