Major League Lacrosse, the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, announced today that Rattlers’ John Ranagan and Hounds’ Mike Sawyer have been added to the roster for the 2013 All-Star game presented by Moe’s Southwest Grill. They will be replacing Paul Rabil and Kyle Dixon who are unavailable due to injury. Rabil will participate in the All-Star festivities and will be on hand to greet the numerous fans who are coming out to Charlotte.
Ranagan has recorded 12 goals in six appearances this season, including a four-goal game against the Hamilton Nationals June 22. He is currently tied for 2nd in goals and is ranked 5th for points on the Rattlers roster. He will join teammates Ned Crotty, Jordan MacIntosh, Mike Manley, and Matt Striebel.
A Charlotte area native, Sawyer has recorded nine goals and four assists in seven appearances since finishing his college career at Loyola, including a three-point game (1g, 2a) in the 16-14 loss against the Hamilton Nationals May 17 that earned him Cascade Rookie of the Week honors. He is currently in 5th place on the Charlotte Hounds roster for points. He will join teammates Ryan Flanagan, Peet Poillon, Brett Schmidt, and Ryan Young.
The MLL All-Star Game, presented by Moe’s Southwest Grill, takes place on Saturday, July 13, at 7:00 pm in Charlotte, N.C., at American Legion Memorial Stadium, and will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
