Aug 13th, 2012 | Trenton, NJ – The New Jersey Rascals, proud members of the Professional Lacrosse League (PLL) announce today they have come to terms with goaltender Nick Schroeder.
Schroeder, a Vancouver, British Columbia native is a veteran of the National Lacrosse League where he suited up for the Philadelphia Wings for five seasons between 2001 and 2006 before finishing up with the New York Titans in 2007.
Nick was also a member of the Maple Ridge Burrards of the Western Lacrosse Association from 1999 to 2001 and then the Langley Thunder from 2002 to 2007. Nick’s amateur playing career was spent playing for the South Fraser Stickman of the BC Junior A Lacrosse League.
“Any Championship lacrosse team starts on the defensive end with a solid goaltender. Nick brings all the qualities I was looking for to build our team around. First and foremost, Nick is a solid stopper and will make the saves needed when called upon, he also possesses great mental toughness and leadership skills that lead to a feeling of confidence by his teammates. Nick will prove to be a difference maker this season for our team.†said Rascals Head Coach Randy Fraser.
“I am really excited to be playing competitive lacrosse again and am looking forward to playing with some of the guys I met at the end of last year†stated Schroeder. “These guys had a ton of talent and picked up a lot of indoor skills and systems very quickly. It will be exciting to see how fast these players progress and hopefully I can help a little as I guess I’ll be the ‘Old Vet’ this time around.â€
