The Six Nations Chiefs (11-1-1) continued their dominance on Saturday evening with a 10-7 victory over the third place Brooklin Redmen (7-5-1) at home. The Chiefs sit five points ahead of the second place Peterborough Lakers (9-4) with seven games remaining in the regular season.
Six Nations dominated the first period scoring six goals and not allowing a goal against. However, the second period was a different story with Brooklin outscoring the Chiefs 3-1. In the third, it was a back and forth affair with both teams scoring three goals each.
Alex Hill and Colin Doyle led the Chiefs with a two goals and one assist each. Roger Vyse registered a goal and two assists. Rounding out the scoring for Six Nations were Rodd Squire Jr (1G, 1A), Cody Jamieson (1,1), Evan Kirk (0,2), Billy Dee Smith (1,0), Dan Coates (1,0), Colin Boucher (1,0), Kasey Biernes, Marty Hill, Rob Marshall and Jesse Gamble with one assist each.
Evan Kirk picked up the win in net making 32 saves.
Brooklin’s Derek Hopcroft led the Redmen with three points (0,3) while Shawn Williams and Jake Hayes scored a goal and assist each. Kevin Brownell, Kyle Aquin, Derek Suddons and Jordan Houtby each scored a goal. Wes McDonald and Dan Ball finished off the scoring with an assist each.
Steve Fryer made 32 saves in the loss. He now sits at 5-2 with a 7.41 GAA.

The 2-9-1 Oakville Rock host the Redmen tomorrow night at the Activa Sportsplex in what should be a tight game as they have split the season series to date with one win a piece.
The Rock are coming a hard fought loss to the Lakers on Thursday night and will be looking to put a W in the win column and separate themselves from the last place Brampton Excelsiors (2-10) who sit just one point behind them.
The Rock will be relying on superstar Stephen Leblanc who leads the team in scoring with 36 points (18G, 18A) and secondary offense of Nic Grasby (8G, 19A) and MSL rookie A.J Masson (12G, 13A) 25 points.
The Redmen are hoping to pick up a win on the road as they are 2-3-1 when they are away from the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena.
