The Toronto Rock have continued to make moves today as they have signed fourth year righty forward Rob Hellyer to a three year deal and restricted free agent Kevin Ross to a two year agreement.
Rob excelled in an increased role in 2014,” said general manager Terry Sanderson. “We think this is just a sign of things to come for him and we’re excited to have Rob as a part of the long-term plans with the Rock.”
Hellyer saw an expanded role when Garrett Billings went down with a torn ACL and the right side of the offense needed more depth. Ross meanwhile also helps improve the offense for the next two seasons.
Toronto also re-signed restricted free agents Bill Hostrawser, Steve Fryer, Craig England, Mike Lum-Walker and Scott Johnston to one year agreements.
Lum-Walker, England, and Fryer each spent time on the practice rosters last season. Johnston and Hostrawser are expected to be a major part of the defense in 2015.
