The Calgary Roughnecks have re-signed goaltender Frankie Scigliano and signed 2013 draft pick Karsen Leung (second round, 10th overall) to one-year contracts for the 2014 National Lacrosse League season, pending league approval.
Scigliano, a native of Coquitlam, British Columbia, has dressed for 27 games over two seasons with Calgary, posting a 12.00 goals-against average and .768 save percentage, allowing 38 goals on 164 shots-against in 189 minutes played. The Roughnecks selected the 21-year-old goaltender in the second round, 18th overall, in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft.
Leung, a Victoria, B.C. native who played collegiately at Bellarmine University, projects as a transition player in the NLL and will compete for a coveted roster spot in training camp.
