Rush Extend Davis and Carlson

General Manager and Head Coach Derek Keenan announced today the Rush have signed assistant captain Jarrett Davis to a three year agreement and newly acquired Tyler Carlson to a two year agreement.

“Jarrett Davis is a big part of our core group. He is a versatile and responsible player who we trust to do the job in any role we put him in.”  states Keenan.

In his second season with Rush, his fourth season in the NLL, Davis finished fourth overall in points for the Rush with a total of 53 points, for 37 assists and 16 goals.   Davis was acquired in a traded with the Buffalo Bandits in the summer of 2013 in exchange for Aaron Wilson and a second-round pick in the 2013 NLL Entry Draft.  In his first season with the Rush, he tallied for a total of 41 points, 25 assists and 16 goals.

Davis Career Highlights: Originally selected fifth overall in the 2010 NLL Entry Draft by Rochester … Drafted in the ninth round (49thoverall) by Hamilton in 2011 MLL Supplemental Draft … Played NCAA field lacrosse with Bellarmine University, and rounded out his career with 44 assists – the third-best total in school history … Was team captain for senior season and team’s MVP for 2008 season … Played in B.C. Junior League with Coquitlam and named Second Team All-Star after finishing third in league scoring with 74 points … Named provincial MVP in 2004 and 2005.

In addition to Davis, the Rush have signed newly acquired goaltender Tyler Carlson to a two year agreement.  Carlson was acquired in the off season when the traded Rush goaltender Brodie MacDonald to the Minnesota Swarm and the No. 3 overall pick in the 2014 NLL Entry Draft.  In addition to exchanging of goalies,  the Rush acquired the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NLL Entry Draft, where the Rush selected Ben McIntosh and a future second-pick in the 2015 NLL Entry to the Rush.

Carlson Career Highlights: 26, spent his first three years in the NLL with the Swarm from 2011-13, and posted an 11-15 record, 11.44 GAA, and a .749 SV%. The Brampton, Ontario native also saw action in three postseason contests in that span, which included a road win in Toronto during the 2013 NLL Division Semifinals. In the 2011 season, Carlson earned a spot on the Swarm’s roster and tallied a 5-2 record as rookie.
