With the new long distance accuracy contest this weekend at the MLL All Star game, along with the freestyle contest, many have begun to wonder if we really need the skills competition.Mike Sawyer made headlines by shooting 114 miles per hour and breaking the Major League Lacrosse record. But the majority of fans seem to think the contest went down from there, with the long distance accuracy contest with scores ranging from 40 to 1. It was won by Jesse Schwartzman, a goaltender.
After that was the freestyle contest, won by Kevin Buchanan that got negative reviews on social media. Below are what some of the people in lacrosse had to say about the competition.

@Marisa_Ingemi Personal opinion?? I think its awful. BUT its about the fans, and I DO think that fans (esp in attendance) appreciate it more
