Cincinnati, Ohio – The Southern Ohio Box Lacrosse Team announced today that it would not be participating in the 2013 season of the CILL (formerly the MILA).
The CILL has made a lot of positive steps in organization and commitment to a high-level game experience this year. While Southern Ohio Box Lacrosse has been happy to meet the extra financial and logistical needs brought on by the changes, the club is not confident that it can meet those obligations for this season.
According to team manager Sean Murphy “Our board has been working to prepare for the season, but the board members have had difficulty meeting our goals for the club amidst other personal, professional, and education demands this year. In particular, the loss of board member Mark Donahue, who is moving away for a great professional opportunity, impedes our ability to fulfill the needs that we know we have to field a respectable, competitive team.”
Southern Ohio Box Lacrosse plans to compete in games with other regional teams not affiliated with the CILL and perhaps a couple of non-league matches with CILL teams. Southern Ohio Box Lacrosse will be working to return to CILL competition in the near future, hopefully starting with the 2014 season.
