The Vancouver Stealth signed draft pick Tyler Digby today amidst his football career beginning to take shape. We went one on one with him about his lacrosse plans.
“I signed with the Stealth because the NLL season comes before the CFL and with talks with the Stealth I would be able to play in the CFL after the season” Digby told us right away when we asked we he decided to sign with the Stealth.
Digby played his college career with Robert Morris and still plays NCAA football with them and was drafted to play in the Canadian Football League with the Ottawa RedBlacks. However, he might get an opportunity to play both pro lacrosse and football.
“I wouldn’t say I expect to play this season but I am going to go in to camp and do whatever it takes to try and earn a roster spot and earn playing time” Digby says. “My strengths as a player are being able to use my body to find space for others and myself also I think I’m a versatile player as well as my lacrosse IQ are strengths for me”
Our profile on InLax Prospects says “Digby is a big 6’3 attackman that can create tons of space for himself to score. He picked up 21 points with Robert Morris in 2012. He didn’t play for the Bellies in 2012, but led the team with 94 points the year before.”
