Yesterday it was announced that Langley Thunder head coach Rod Jensen and Peterborough Lakers head coach Jamie Batley had been suspended for not cooperating with the CCES doping testing during the Mann Cup.
Well, now they can coach during the Mann Cup, as CLA president Joe Harris has “stayed” the suspension pending further investigation, according to IL Indoor.
Both coaches appealed the suspensions and the CLA decided to stay them. This means that they are still suspended, but they can coach as the league continues to investigate.
The coaches say they were not warned of the doping testing procedures so they thought that the ruling was unfair.
The Mann Cup will be in the building tonight as the Peterborough Lakers lead the Thunder 3-2 tonight in game six of the Mann Cup series. Both teams will have full rosters and coaches ready to go.
Keep watching for more on this story, there is a lot more to come in the next few weeks.
