The Minnesota Swarm will be facing off in their third preseason game this weekend vs. the Colorado Mammoth. This will be a big game for all players on the verge of making the team. After two games last weekend both of the Swarm rookies, Miles Thompson and Shane Macdonald had no problem finding the net. Both these players will be watched closely if they can keep their production up.
The Swarm are a young team but have a ton of talent. Forward, Shayne Jackson will be a leader on the floor and looking to be a key offensive player along with Callum Crawford. Some other players to watch out for on the Minnesota Swarm are rookie Haodais Maracle and Dean Hill from Six Nations. Maracle is a lefty forward who is young with a ton of up side to his game. For Dean Hill he is a veteran back in his second stint with the Swarm and will be facing the team he played for last year, the Colorado Mammoth. The Swarm released Andrew Casmir and Zach Palmer earlier this week. Look for players who excel in their game to prove why they should make this team as more cuts will be made.
For the Mammoth they have plenty of stars such as: John Grant Jr, Adam Jones and Dillon Ward. Some rookies to watch out for this weekend are Rob Hope at the defensive end and forward Eli McLaughlin. The left side having Grant and Jones on it will give fans an opportunity to see more of Eli play with both vets. Defender Colin Boucher is looking like he will make the team. While we will have to wait and see if Jacksonville alum, Cameron Mann can make the team for his third year in a row.
This year, the team is looking a lot younger compared to recent years with World Champion goalie, Dillon Ward who will be entering in his second year with the Colorado Mammoth. And looking for the second string position is rookie, Alexis Buque. This game will be one to showcase talent for both teams and should be a great one to watch.
