Thunder look to Rebound against Timbermen

On Wednesday night the Langley Thunder (3-2) host the Nanaimo Timbermen (1-5). The Thunder are on a two game losing streak and will be looking to gain a victory. While Nanaimo is on a five game losing streak with their only win coming in their season opener.

The last contest between these two teams was a hard fought battle in which the Thunder came away with a 7-5 victory. Langley was able to control the last meeting between these teams as Langley scored seven consecutive goals between the first and second period in order to take the 7-5 victory. The Thunder were led by Athan Iannucci and Shayne Jackson. While the Timbermen were led by Blake Kenney who had three points on the night but it wasn’t enough to get the Timbermen the Victory.

The key for the Timbermen in this game against Langley is to prevent Langley from getting on a scoring streak as they cannot afford to allow Langley to score seven consecutive goals again. The Timbermen do not have the fire power to match Langley and will need to control ball possession in order to win this game. If the Timbermen can score some early goals on Brodie MacDonald and control the majority of ball possession then they can win this game.

The key for the Thunder in this game is to do exactly what they did in their last game against Nanaimo and score consecutively to force Nanaimo to work from behind. If Langley gets ahead early Nanaimo will begin to take more risks and make more mistakes which will allow Langley to take control of the game. In their last meeting Brodie MacDonald was stellar as he only allowed five goals and will need to be on top of his game against Nanaimo.

In the end the Thunder should walk away with the victory over Nanaimo as they have the superior offense and superior goaltending. Expect the Thunder to overpower the Timbermen  as the Timbermen do not have the team to contend with the Thunder.
