Tonight at 8 pm on the Lacrosse Lounge Phil Shore talks to Joe Spallina, the head coach of the Long Island Lizards of the MLL. This year is Spallina’s first year behind the bench with Long Island, and so far the season has gone quite well for his team. After losing two games at the start of the season the Chesapeake and Denver the Lizards have gone on a four game winning streak. This includes their most recent win, a 16 to 12 victory over the Ohio Machine on Saturday.
The Lizards offense has been led by many names, including Brian Langtry, Grant Catalino, Max Seibald, and Ryan Young. Last game they got great production from Tommy Palasek, who scored four goals for Long Island. Looking ahead the Lizards have a critical game next weekend against the Denver Outlaws, who also currently sit at 4-2.
Lacrosse Lounge airs every Monday night at 8 pm on the first channel of the Lacrosse Radio Network. It serves as the premiere MLL Show on the Network. You can listen live, or you can listen afterwards in the archives or download the show on iTunes. Phil Shore writes for In Lacrosse We Trust as well as the New England Lacrosse Journal.
