Welcome to the first edition of the top 50 lacrosse prospects. We have compiled a list of the top 50 prospects for professional lacrosse (NLL and MLL). All of these prospects have never played in the NLL or MLL or any pro level (NALL etc) to qualify. All of them have played juniors, seniors or NCAA lacrosse. Below is 50-41.
41. Tyler Digby- Forward/Attack R Robert Morris/New Westminster
Digby is a big 6’3 attackman that can create tons of space for himself to score.He picked up 21 points with Robert Morris in 2012. He didn’t play for the Bellies in 2012, but led the team with 94 points the year before.
42. Kevin Neufeld- Defender L Robert Morris
Neufeld is a 6’4 defender from Coquitlam. He was the second round draft pick of the Coquitlam Adanacs in the 2013 WLA draft. He played in 15 games last season with the Jr A’s with three assists, 27 penalty minutes and three shots on net.
43. James Delaney- Forward R Seton Hall/Okotoks
Delaney is now a member of the Coquitlam Adanacs in the WLA. In 2011, Delaney won second team all ECC conference with Seton Hall. He scored 101 points to lead the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League last season with Okotoks.
44. Kevin Cooper- Midfield R Maryland (Property of Bayhawks)
Cooper was a second round pick to the Chesapeake Bayhawks in the 2013 draft. The 6’4 midfielder was a 2011 all ACC midfielder as well. He has been one of the stars for the Terps for a while with a heavy right shot and can play a little bit of D as well.
45. Garret McIntosh- Defender R Drexel/Maple Ridge
Has a combined 16 points in 34 games over two years with the Sr A Burrards. 47 career penalty minutes as well.
46. Blake Duncan- Goalie R Maple Ridge
Started four and played in six games, but went 0-5 on the season for the Burrards. Played 244 minutes and allowed 53 goals with 106 saves. 13.03 GAA.
47. Matt Melynk- Defender L Marquette/Okotoks
A 5’11 Junior, Melnyk had played at Presbyterian before transferring to the Golden Eagles. With the Raiders last season, Melnyk played in four games with 11 penalty minutes.
48. Mitch McLaren- Transition R Bellarmine/Victoria
Had nine points in 12 games for the Sr A Shamrocks in 2012. He had four points in six playoff games and took just ten shots on goal all season.
49. Jeff Swift- Forward R Peterborough
Undersized scorer. Has had over 40 points in each of his seasons with the Jr Lakers with a career high 49 last season. Lefty shooter who can score and dish it out.
50. AJ Masson- Transition L Vermont/Orangeville
Has played in four seasons in Jrs, the last two in Orangeville after being traded from Newmarket. Had a career high 48 points in 2010 but last season
