TurfDogs host Demons in Week 11.

As we head into week 11 of the CLAX season a pivotal matchup is on the schedule as the Durham TurfDogs (5-6) host the Oshweken Demons (7-5) at 2pm at the General Motors Centre. This is a big game for the TurfDogs who lost 12-7 to Brampton last weekend and will need a win to stay in the playoff hunt. While Oshweken will come into this game looking to get a win to draw closer to the first place Niagara Lock Monsters.

Oshweken has one of the strongest offenses in CLAX which is powered by the duo of Wayne VanEvery and Delby Powless. VanEvery has been a monster on offense notching 34 goals and 23 assist for 57 points. While Delby Powless who has scored 25 goals and 35 assists for 60 points on the season. These two will try to spread the TurfDogs defense and open up the floor to generate scoring chances. The Demons want to make this a fast paced game in order to create opportunities in the transition game.

Durham has been led this year by Nic Grasby and Shane Scott. Grasby has17 goals and 28 assists for 45 points while Scott has 24 goals and 14 assists on the season for 38 points.  These two will need to be on top of their game against Oshweken as Jeff Powless is still one of the best goalies in the league and will make them work for every goal. For the TurfDogs they need to shutdown VanEvery and Powless to have a chance in this game. The TurfDogs need to be vigilant and prevent giving up scoring opportunities in the transition game and play tight defense. John Chesebrough will need to be on top of his game against a tough Demons offense.

In the end the Demons should win this game as their offensive fire power gives them a significant edge over Durham. Expect the Demons to come away with a victory on another strong performance from Wayne VanEvery.
