Wings Rushed In Loss

The Philadelphia Wings lost 6-14 on the same day the city lost another battle to Mother Nature.
With the wind and rain pounding outside of the stadium, the Philly fans were pounding their seats as the Wings shut out Saskatchewan 3-0 in the first quarter. The fans were stunned as the Wings stalled the Rush.
Quarter 2 saw the Rush score 4 to Philly’s 1.  The fans quieted down as they prepared themselves for the second half.  The Rush outscored Philadelphia 4-2 in quarter 3.  Quarter 4 saw the breakdown of the Wings as Saskatchewan scored 6 and shutout the Wings.
Frustration came out at the end of the game with the players and coach.  Sam LeClair spoke to the media about the frustration of the team and the scoring.  “We came out in the second flat.  We came out flat and they capitalized.” When asked about quarters of not scoring, LeClair responded, “well, if you have an answer, it would be great for you to speak up. Uh, I don’t know.  I don’t know.  We have moments of excellence, and then we have moments of the game [that] keep going by us.  We’re not executing.  Turnovers, penalties, reviews.  It takes the flow out of the game.”  This is where the Wings seem to struggle to reconnect.  And that is when the other teams take advantage of their failure to regroup.
Kyle Jackson reflected on being back.  “It’s awesome!  Philly is awesome.  The crowd is awesome!”  And while he spoke humbly about being a “small part” of this organization, he has made an immediate impact on the floor and in the locker room.  Ian Rubel commented on Kyle’s strengths and how he has helped the team.  The Wings will have to utilize that leadership as the Swarm come into town on Friday.  The Wings will then travel to Georgia to play the Swarm on Saturday.
