Last night the Philadelphia Wings locked up defenseman Brett Manney for the 2014 season. Brett enters his sixth season in the NLL, fourth with the Wings.
Bringing Manney back will obviously strengthen the defense, but will also bring leadership on the floor and in the locker room.
Manney spent his first two seasons with the Stealth before being acquired by the Wings prior to the 2011 season. Manney was a big part of the Wings defense last season as it was one of the youngest in the league. This year with the addition of Evan Kirk to help Miller between the pipes, it could be a very strong season for the Wings defense.
Manney is a big and strong at 6’3 225 he uses all of that frame to make you earn every inch on the floor.
When talking to Brett after the signing he said “I am just happy to be back playing in front of the most passionate fans in the game”.
