1st Star – Jesse King, Victoria Shamrocks
King had a great week, scoring 10 points (six goals, four assists) as the Shamrocks are beginning to take their play to another level.
He led the Shamrocks with four goals in their 16-6 drubbing of the Thunder and got him into a tie for third in goals with nine overall. He’s also forcing teams from putting extra pressure on any one offensive player, like Corey Small and Rhys Duch.
2nd Star – Logan Schuss, New Westminster Salmonbellies
The ‘Bellies have to be glad to have Schuss in the fold this year and he’s having an excellent start to the season. He scored the go ahead goal after New West fought back from a 7-4 deficit against Burnaby and had five points overall. With the youth the Fish have on offence with guys like Luke Gillespie, Richard Lachlan and Jimmy McBride, Schuss has taken a veteran role with the club and what better way to lead than lead by example?
Schuss is tied for fourth in the dub in points with 23 with 15 coming by way of assists.
3rd Star – Dan Lewis, Coquitlam Adanacs
Dan Lewis was fantastic in getting the A’s back on track Saturday night, allowing just three goals in the 7-3 win over Burnaby.
The win had to be a satisfying win for Lewis, who beat his former team with a stellar performance. Any time your goaltender puts those kind of numbers up, the team should respond with a good performance, which was the case as the ‘Nacs put seven past Tye Belanger. If Lewis can keep up the great play, Coquitlam might be a tougher out than we previously thought.
