Black Wolves Trade for Tye Belanger

The New England Black Wolves have traded for Colorado Mammoth goaltender Tye Belanger, giving up a fourth round pick for the 2015 draft. Belanger was the back up goaltender to Dillon Ward for the Mammoth last season.

There was speculation that Belanger wouldn’t make the Mammoth roster with rookie Alexis Buque performing so well. He will have an opportunity to likely play back up to Evan Kirk now.

Either Kevin Croswell or Chris Collins will likely be cut from New England now with one of them on the practice roster.

Belanger, in his three career seasons with Colorado, has a career 12.39 GAA and a .739 save percentage. He played a career high 412 minutes in 2013 and also had his career high five wins that season.

New England has tried out several goalies this pre season, including Jake Lazore, Patrick Crosby, Mike Fournier, and Kevin Croswell.
