Campbell, Hawkins Top Picks for Knighthawks

Five new players were welcomed to the NLL world champion knighthawks organization this past week. Rochester selected Robbie Campbell, Cody Hawkins, Matt Hummel, Chris Attwood and Cody McLeod in their 2012 NLL entry draft last Monday, October 1st.

Coming from Stony Brook University, Robbie Campbell played in 14 games, starting 13 in the 2012 season. With 24 goals and 17 assists, Campbell was third on the team in goals and points. With a goal and two assists in NCAA Tournament, Campbell was named to the first team All-America East and All-Academic Team.

Cody Hawkins, reigning from Delta, BC, was an Islanders captain and standout player, being named the 2012 BC Junior “A” Lacrosse League Defensive Player of the Year.

Matt Hummel of Mercyhurst University played in all 14 matches in 2012. Hummel was third on the team for goals scored, and fifth for overall points in part to his seven assists.

A CLax and Nations Cup Championship helped Chris Attwood of St. Catharines, Ontario secure both league and tournament MVP honors in the 2012 season.

In 2011, Attwood aided the Rebels to a 4th Founders Cup title and was named the Founders Cup Championship Game MVP.
