Charlotte Looks for Third Win, Take on First Place Bayhawks

It’s a match-up between the top team in the league and one of the worst. This week the Chesapeake Bayhawks try to keep their spectacular season going when they face the Charlotte Hounds, who are looking to move further ahead of the Machine in the standings. The Bayhawks sit at 7-1, coming off of a critical 14-13 victory over the Boston Cannons. They are obviously the heavy favorite in this one. However they are facing a team in Charlotte that is full of potential, just hasn’t lived up to it so far.
Charlotte stands at 2-6 with their only two victories coming against the Ohio Machine. Its well known now that one of their main weaknesses has been faceoffs, as the struggles continue. Luckily for Charlotte their goaltending woes are over as Adam Ghitelman has come into his own. This could be a very important game for Charlotte, who at this point is just looking to have something to build on for next season.
For the Hounds to win they need to shut down the Bayhawks big guns, Dixon, Brooks, Westervelt, Kimmel, and Grant Jr. If the Bayhawks get rolling the Hounds have very little chance to come out on top. On the flip side of things Chesapeake can’t let the Hounds attackmen get comfortable. If the Hounds don’t have the ball, an issue they’ve run into all season, they obviously can’t score. Chesapeake will try to control the possession game as much as possible.
The game is tonight at 7:00 from Charlotte, North Carolina. Remember that this game, as well as all the other ones from this week of action, will be talked about tomorrow from 11 to 12:30 on the Lacrosse Radio Network MLL Post-Game Show. As usual I will be hosting so make sure to check in to hear myself and the panel talk about all the storylines around the league.
