Ohio State Takes on Bellarmine

Ohio State is 3-1 at the moment after losing its season opener to Detroit Mercy 9-8. They followed up with wins vs. Robert Morris, Delaware and Dartmouth.

Ohio State is being led on offense by Senior Jesse King seventeen points (12G, 5A). Junior Carter Brown is second with ten points (4G, 6A); five of his points came against Dartmouth. Syosset, Long Island product Ryan Hunter has eight on the year so far and had a hat trick vs. Robert Morris. Senior Turner Evans was third on the team in scoring last year so far he only has four points this season but look for his numbers to go up.

In goal sophomore out of New Canaan Connecticut Tom Carey has thirty-eight saves and has played every moment in net for the Buckeyes.

Right now Bellarmine is 1-1 they lost 16-9 to Michigan but got a 13-10 win over Robert Morris. Austin Shanks out of Whitby Ontario has ten points so far (9G1A) while Kentucky local Ryan Scrinta has six with four of his points coming in the game vs. Michigan. Sophomore Jack Perkins also has six on the year  (4G, 2A) while Tucker Ciessau has five so far (2G, 3A). Freshman out of Dallas Texas Drew Goethals has twenty-four saves in his first two colligate games.

These two teams have been playing each other since 2007 and Ohio State has won every match up except in 2010. 2013 was the closest game otherwise with the Buckeyes getting the 9-7 win. This year look for Ohio State to keep the win streak going. Jesse King is the best player on the field with a gold medal from the World Games this past summer and was a top MLL pick by the Rochester Rattlers. Bellarmine does not have a player who can stop him and he will be a match up problem in tonight’s games.
