Tim Henderson Back in the Mix For Stealth

In 2012 the Stealth drafted the 6’3” 220lb defender Tim Henderson with the 23rd overall pick. With a highly decorated college-playing career Tim was able to make the transition to the Stealth roster with ease, playing in 11 games in the 2013 season. It was a unique dynamic for Tim as he was still active military with the U.S. Army.

Tim was an impact player for the Stealth is rookie season. In 11 games Henderson collected 4 assists, and 19 loose balls, in his 3-playoff game appearances he added 1 goal, and 3 more loosies. Part of the Champions Cup team in his rookie season, falling to the Rochester Knighthawks in a close one, Tim appeared to be geared up for a run the following season. That was until it was announced in the off-season that Tim would miss the 2014 season as he was to be deployed to Afghanistan.

With the long list of injuries, and roster moves that off-season; Tim’s absence proved to be a void the Stealth could just not overcome. Henderson’s size, speed, and tenacity for the ball was something the Stealth could have used last year. These traits and qualities is part of why Tim is a soldier in the U.S. Army. When questioned Tim equated his time with the Stealth to that of his experience in the Army, in the fact that both are a team, and you have to work/go about your business as such.

Late this summer, early fall it was announced that Tim would be returning to the Stealth roster, as his time overseas had come to an end. It was big news for fans, teammates, and Stealth management that Tim had returned safe and sound. There is little doubt to those who know Tim’s skill, personality, and work ethic that he will be giving it his all in camp to solidify a roster spot as if he never took a year off the turf to serve his country.

Fans can welcome Tim and the rest of the Stealth squad back to action when camp starts on November 22nd. Make sure to take the time to give a thank you to one of America’s finest for his service to our freedom, and wish him the best.
