Power Rankings: Rush Rolling Along, Bandits and Hawks Battle in East

Week 11   Edmonton sets NLL record 9 straight wins to start season, Buffalo and Rochester keep things interesting in east.  Six games this weekend

Power Rankings   Week 11

 

(1) 1—Edmonton Rush  (9-0) Set an NLL record by winning first nine games of the season as they defeat the Stealth 10-9. Biggest lead was three goals at the start but that didn’t last long.  Both teams battled the whole game,  Robert Church (3 goals), Corbeil/Conway 2 goals each led the way for the Rush.   Edmonton will travel to Calgary for what is to be a classic matchup  Friday night 9pm

(2) 2—Buffalo Bandits (7-2)   Buffalo remains on top I the east with a tough 12-9 win over the Swarm.  Game was up and back until the Bandits go on a three goal run in 1:19 to end the game.  Mark Steenhuis (4G) and Dhane Smiths hat trick led the way for Buffalo.  Bandits remain at home as they host the Mammoth Saturday at 7:30pm.

(4) 3—Rochester Knighthawks (7-3) Another classic battle between the two teams but the Knighthawks come up on top 13-8 after outscoring the Wings 5-1 in final quarter.  Cody Jamieson again has a day with 4 goals. Knighthawks will play back to back this weekend.  Travel to Toronto for a 7pm Saturday night match up, then travel to Philadelphia for a 4pm Sunday game.

(3) 4—Calgary Roughnecks (6-4)  Started out strong with a 5-0 lead, only to see the Mammoth go on a nine goal run and fall in overtime 10-9 to Colorafordo.  Jeff Shattlers 4 goals led the scoring for Calgary.  Calgary will look to move a step closer as they host the undefeated Rush Friday night 9pm.

(6) 5—Colorado Mammoth (5-7)   Overcame a 5-0 run from the Roughnecks with a nine goal run of their own to win a thriller in OT 10-9. Sean Pollock with a hat-trick (game winner) led the way for the Mammoth.  Mammoth will shuffle off to Buffalo for a meeting with the Bandits Saturday  7:30pm.

(5) 6—Toronto Rock (4-6)  Were idle this week, but return to action with back to back March 15-16 (Rochester/Minnesota)

(7) 7—Philadelphia Wings (3-8)  Came out quick against the Knighthawks, held a few leads and kept it close through the first three quarters., then Rochester turned it own the final stanza to hand the Wings a 13-8 loss. Wings will host the same Knighthawks Sunday 4pm

(8) 8—Vancouver Stealth (3-8)  Played on of their better games as they fell 109 to the Rush  Held an 8-7 lead going into the fourth. Rhys Duch & Mike Grimes 2 goals apiece, Tyler Richards sharp in goal.  Stealth are idle this week and will host the Roughnecks March 21st11pm

(9) 9—Minnesota Swarm (2-8)  Once again took a lead into the final quarter and allowed their opponents to steal the game.  Swarm fell 12-9 to the Bandits. Josh Gilliam hat trick and rookie Logan Schuss 2 goals led the scoring for the Swarm.  Swarm are back at the Hive to host the Rock Sunday 6pm
