Syracuse University defeated Hobart yesterday by a score of 15-9. The Orange had a stellar fourth quarter, scoring six goals to secure their victory.
Kevin Rice, Dylan Donahue, and Randy Staats all used their offensive talent, leading the ‘Cuse offense. These three scored 11 out of Syracuse’s 15 goals. Rice and Staats combined for nine goals to lead the 9-3 Orange to a win.
Staats tallied eight points, Rice had six, while Donahue scored four. Zach Reed led Hobart with two goals and one assist, for three points on the day. Hobart falls to 4-8.
Hobart took a 6-2 lead with a 4-0 run in the second quarter to take their biggest lead of the day but the play by Staats and Rice led Syracuse back to take control. The Orange took the lead and never looked back with 25 seconds remaining in the third quarter.
Syracuse takes on Duke April 25, in a key ACC match up, while Hobart plays St . Joseph’s April 26. Syracuse has one more game against Colgate on May 5 to wrap up their season while Hobart’s match against the Hawks is their last.
