Duke will finally face Stony Brook after some bad weather forced the game to be rescheduled. For Duke they will have to stop Mike Rooney who is tied for the top spot in Division I points with 78. Rooney has shown to be a top player all year and if not stop can put up some big numbers. Also for Stony Brook there are Canadian products Brody Eastwood with 54 points and Challen Rogers who is the teams top midfielder with 37 points.Chris Hughes is also another midfielder who is playing very good with 30 points having. Chris had his biggest game of the year when he scored five points against Princeton. The Sea Wolves defense has been strong all year only letting five teams score double digit points on them. The goalie is freshman Brandon Maciejewski who has fifty saves after talking over the full time starting role mid season. 10-3 so far this season Stony Brook would love to get the upset over a top program in Duke.
Duke stands at 8-4 and after a three game losing streak they came out strong against Virginia defeating their ACC rival 15-8. The Blue Devils are offense is being led by Long Islanders Myles Jones who is a force running over defenders while scoring fifty-five points this season. Also freshman Justin Guterding has forty-seven points of his own thirty-five of them goals. Justin knows how to put the ball in the back of the net and it is know question he is freshman of the year.
Duke has Deemer Class and Case Matheis but look for Kyle Keenan to have a big game against his home town college. Also Will Haus will have the job of defending Stony Brook’s top midfielders and should do a good job. In net will be Danny Fowler who made 18 saves on 26 shots vs. UVA.
