Western New York has always been a hotbed for high school lacrosse but in recent years it has developed more great players to jump to the next level. The 2013 Section 6 season will not lack talent as there is some great ballers playing in the Greater Buffalo Area.
Zed Williams- SR Midfield- Silver Creek
The record books of New York State High School Lacrosse had to be rewritten on Saturday June 2nd, as Zed Williams tallied his 554th career point breaking lacrosse legend Casey Powell’s career point record of 553. The only catch is Williams still has one more year to do some damage. The Silver Creek Midfielder is strong at all ends of the field. Williams is very athletic and has great stick skills making him a great dodger. His shot is deadly as a spot up or on the run. Williams owns ground balls at all areas of the field and when he is in his own end he is a tenacious defender. Williams has yet to commit anywhere but you can assure he has caught the attention of many Division I coaches. Williams isn’t using his summer for a break as he is playing for the Six Nations Rebels in the Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League. In his first season with the Rebels he has recorded 28 goals, 36 assists for 64 points in 13 games played. The Silver Creek Black Knight has already accomplished many great feats in his high school career and one can only imagine more success is in store for Zed Williams.
Adam DiMillo- JR Midfield- Bishop Timon-St.Jude
Dimillo committed to Maryland before stepping foot onto the field in his sophomore season last year. In his sophomore season, he was selected to play for Upstate N.Y team in the Under Armour Underclassman Tournament and was named 1st Team All Western New York. The future Terp is a speedy midfielder with a knack for the back of the net. DiMillo also is a great dodger with a heavy shot on the run. Look for Adam DiMillo to continue to tear up Section 6 in 2013 with the Bishop Timon Tigers.
