May 8, 2014

It all goes down this Sunday. The Syracuse Orange men’s lacrosse team will go toe-to-toe with the Bryant Bulldogs in the first round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament. Central New York’s own Carrier Dome will be host to the showdown as the Orange hope to continue riding the lightning of their 2014 season, and Bryant hopes to follow up on their almost-too-close-for-comfort victory over Siena. 7:30 pm Sunday, Carrier Dome…

April 29, 2014

With NCAA lacrosse conference realignment on the horizon there were a few minor changes to the 2014 conferences in preparation for the big shift. One of the moves were the Loyola Greyhounds bouncing over to the Patriot League. The Greyhounds put on a show all season, educating the small-school teams in lacrosse IQ and competition levels. They went 14-1 all season and destroyed the majority of their conference opponents. This…

ACC Houses Big Gear for Big Performances

April 21, 2014

This is a very special gear column coming at you this week as I’m highlighting Maryland versus Notre Dame from Saturday. Both teams were sporting special uniforms and helmets in honor of the final regular game that depicted ACC postseason seeds/standings. Notre Dame sported their Shamrock Series gear. Their Cascade R’s were white with a green/gold combo making the ND decal. The same green outlined in gold was the player’s…

Irish Put Up a Fight, Maryland is Able to Soar Into ACCs

The primetime match up on Saturday of Maryland and Notre Dame started off on a bumpy note. Opponents were trying to get a feel for the other’s competition and systems, Notre Dame wasn’t capitalizing on the opportunities they had, and the Terps were unloading on Conor Kelly in goal. Maryland played aggressive offense, continuously bodied up against their defenders and made the Irish work for their protection. Matt Rambo, Mike…

I was definitely not the best player on my team. The competition of the area I come from is top notch high school athletics. Many players of many sports went off to schools on…

On the other hand, many club teams pay out of pocket expenses. Lacrosse gear is customizable and available at prices appreciable to both college programs and individual student players. With that said, Syracuse is one of the…

Lizards Run Up on Israel; Israel Third Int’l Team to Compete Against MLL

April 14, 2014

As was expected, JoJo Marasco and Rob Pannell looked as good on the field as they usually do. Unexpectedly, Israel performed extremely sub-par.  The Lizards ran up the score to a final of 21-3. I equate this game to a previous one I watched this NCAA season: Lehigh versus Loyola. Both teams are very good, but the Lizards and Loyola are much higher caliber lacrosse programs than either Israel or…
