NLL Trade Deadline: Edmonton Rush

March 13, 2013

As the trade deadline draws near (5pm eastern today) I truly do not see any trades being done by the Rush.  They are solid between the pipes with Bold and MacDonald.  The defense is just as solid with Rubisch, Lintz, Mydske and Cornwall just to name a few.  And the offense…Mark Matthews is on pace to break John Grant Jr’s rookie record for goals in a season (37).  Matthews is…

Could Bombers Contribute to NLL in 2013?

With the trade deadline only hours away, and the deadline for teams to sign free agents for playoffs is Friday March 15 at 5pm, I turned to the roster of the Baltimore Bombers of the NALL.  Four names stuck out. Matt Alrich(D)  Dan Marohl(F), Shaun Nadelen(D) &  John Orson(D) Have to wonder if Head Coach Johnny Mouradian or any of the other GM’s will be dialing the house of Shaun…

NLL Trade Deadline: Philadelphia Wings Report

March 11, 2013

Goaltending:  Its obvious to anyone who can see that Coach Mouradian has very little if any confidence in Kevin Croswell.  This past weekend proves my point.  As Brandon Miller was getting beat, normally you see a coach pull the starter for a bit to re-focus.  That never happened.  My suggestion.. Nick Patterson. He is a free agent after his release from Washington  I liked Patterson over Crosswell, but before the…

NLL: Wings Face Stealth

March 9, 2013

This evening the Washington Stealth(6-4) face the 5-3 Philadelphia Wings at the Wells Fargo Center.  This is also the return of Athan Iannucci to Philadelphia. Back in 2008 Iannucci scored a record 71 goals on the way to league MVP.  The Stealth have taken the league by surprise this year by vaulting to the top spot in the West after only winning four times last season and missing the playoffs. …

NLL: Swarm Face Off Against Roughnecks

March 8, 2013

Tonight the Minnesota Swarm (3-6) will face-off against the Calgary Roughnecks(5-5).  Both teams have lost 3 of there last 4 games.  Calgary’s last win was against the Swarm in Minnesota 17-16 as they barely escaped The Hive that night.  Since then the Roughnecks have been roughed up by falling to the Stealth 16-14 and last week being dominated by the Edmonton Rush at home 18-13. Geoff Snider returns tonight from…

Ten NLL Questions to Watch: Week Ten

March 6, 2013

Colorado @ Toronto.  A huge game for both teams.  The Rock still have the best record in the NLL at 6-3, but they have seen there lead dwindle to a half game over the Philadelphia Wings who they face next week.  Coming off a hard 15-13 defeat to the Bandits, look for Colin Doyle, Stephan LeBlanc, Garrett Billings and company to take advantage of a struggling Mammoth team.  For the…

NLL: Wings Face Off With Bandits

March 1, 2013

Tonight the Wings face off against the Buffalo Bandits at 7:30.  This game is big for both teams.  For the Bandits it could put them in a first place tie with the Toronto Rock who they defeated 15-13 last night in Toronto, and it will also give them the tie-breaker over the Philadelphia Wings as each team has a victory.  Johnny Tavares made his return and registered a hat-trick last…

Ten NLL Questions to Watch For in Week Nine

February 27, 2013

We have reached the half way point of the NLL season, and it has not disappointed at all. The Edmonton Rush and Washington Stealth are the biggest surprises on the winning side, while the defending champions seem to have a relapse of championship hangover.  Are the Calgary Roughnecks showing there age?  Is there too much youth for 2013 for the Swarm?  Can the Mammoth turn it around with 22 yr…
