NLL Trade Deadline: Philadelphia Wings Report

Goaltending:  Its obvious to anyone who can see that Coach Mouradian has very little if any confidence in Kevin Croswell.  This past weekend proves my point.  As Brandon Miller was getting beat, normally you see a coach pull the starter for a bit to re-focus.  That never happened.  My suggestion.. Nick Patterson. He is a free agent after his release from Washington  I liked Patterson over Crosswell, but before the start Patterson signed and Croswell was available.   He wont cost you anything and may help.  Only other option I like is Angus Goodleaf back-up in Rochester…but what would they want? I wouldn’t trade youth that they have.  S percentage point to Patterson in my eyes.

Forward: With Brendan Mundorf slated to return soon (possibly this week) you will need to sit a forward,  Who you sit?  I say Mike McLellan.  Ned Crotty may not be scoring a lot of points but contributes in other areas.  Ethan Farrell been riding the pine last 4-5 games.  Maybe package Crotty/McLellan/ for a sniper.

Here is a possibility…. Mat Giles  released by the Bandits.  Adds size and scoring power…. is their anything left?

Defense:  With the signing of Kyle Sweeney a few weeks ago, the Wings filled another void on defernse. Its obvious Kyle is a leader on the floor, pairing him with Manney to help the young defense is a big help.  I don’t see a trade happening here as there are some D-men out on the free agency wire.

Assessment….  I don’t see a lot of trades happening for the Philadelphia Wings, as they are trying to go American with a few Canadian players.  They are very happy with there defense right now.  Offense is clicking right now and the addition of Mundorf in the next week or two will make this offense more dangerous.  The goaltending,  I say bring in Patterson for a try, nothing to lose.  With all teams still in it, the 8th spot will be a battle between Colorado & Minnesota, and they face each other the last 2 games of season, May be able to pull a trade with the Swarm for a veteran as they have a number of first round picks again next season and are going young.

But this is the NLL…. anything can happen!     Trade Deadline   March 13   5pm
